We want to know if you have been experiencing strange odours originating from your drains.
For the last few years Maple Systems based at Units 4 and 5 in Torwood close have been experiencing intermittent smells coming from the drains. These smells seem to be solvent based, almost like the smell of Evostick glue. The smell will normally last anything between a few hours, to all day and occur anything from once a week to once a month. Unit 6 next door to Maple has also reported experiencing the same problem.
The Environmental services from Coventry have been out to investigate but do not have any equipment that is able to determine what may be causing the smell. Maple thus contacted Severn Trent who were very concerned at possible pollutants being put down the drain, they checked the main sewer but could find nothing. They will not investigate any further as the drainage in the business park is not their responsibility.

Do you know where the pollutant is originating, we assume some company on the park is flushing chemicals down the main drain which will be against health and safety regulations?
