Possible Park and Ride Service extended to the Business Park
The issue of car parking space on the park has been discussed many times at
resident meetings and it has been put forward to the Coventry City Council Workplace
Travelplan department. This is with the possibility of extending the Park and
Ride scheme to the Westwood Business Park. For them to first do this they need
to find out if there are enough companies that are interested in this idea.
At present the Park and Ride system in the south of the city runs from the
Memorial Park to the City Centre. This bus operates from 7:00 until 18:30. It
is unlikely that a Park and Ride service would operate throughout the day to Westwood
Business Park, but if there was demand from 7:30 until 9:30, and 16:00 until 18:30
for example it may be possible to negotiate a service.
The current return fares for the Park and Ride are as follows: -
- Adults - £1.30
- Child (Under 16) - 65p
- Family Ticket* - £2.50
- OAP + Centro Half Fare Concessionary Pass Holders**
- 65p
- Child (Under 5) - FREE
- Centro Concessionary Pass Holders** - FREE
* Valid for three adults and
accompanying children
** These fares are only available
for travel after 9:30 and all day Saturday
At the moment the Council are simply trying to gauge potential interest in
this scheme. If there appears to be significant interest then they will be happy
to take the idea further. If you are interested in this scheme please contact
James Wood with your feedback, positive or negative.
